Getting an appetite for startups

Micro-sites will be available at the Taste 2014-15 as incubator sites, to help new businesses out with a low-cost market entry path.

Similar to the growing 'pop up' business trend, operators will be able to take out a micro stall for a few days, rather than committing to a whole week. It might also be a useful concept in Salamanca's markets, say the organisers.

Startup communities are thriving in Tasmania and come in all shapes and sizes. Call them niche, micro, bespoke, or artisan they come from across a wide spectrum of industry sectors and they make us the vibrant place we are.
